STATEMENT

The transience of life preoccupies me and drives my work. I draw and paint portraits, interiors, and landscapes so that I can record people and places that are meaningful to me. The works have a veneer of obvious delight in absurdity and humor; the complex emotional undercurrent makes itself known through color, surface, painterly brushstroke, and expressively drawn line.
